Entrepreneurship: A State of Mind you Should Acquire
It’s no big news that this century has seen a lot of teeming entrepreneurs. Most of us regard entrepreneurship as the quest to start up our own business, but ‘it is more than that. It is a state of mind.’
Carl Voigt the dean of Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California explained that entrepreneurship is moving from a circle of comfort to a growth zone.
What It Takes to be a successful entrepreneur – A Positive State of Mind
Being an entrepreneur requires you to have a positive mind set in order to overcome some inevitable obstacles you will come across while running the business. If you decide to stay in the negative aspect of life, you’ll be let down, discouraged and even beaten psychologically.
This positive state of mind will help you maintain sanity in life and business. Developing that positive state of mind isn’t very difficult. Some ways to develop that state of mind are;
Stay Motivated:
Being motivated helps you tow the part of positivity as you already have a clear goal and all you need is just keeping that fire burning until you achieve that goal. Confucius puts this mildly in his quote “The man who moves a mountain begins by carrying away small stones.”
We all know this isn’t usually very easy but then again, success doesn’t come cheap most times. The most successful people will tell you staying motivated and positive that ‘this can be done, and I’ll do it’ is the only way.
Have a network of like minds:
An important detail every successful entrepreneur knows is the power of a network. Remember the statement; the company you keep shapes you. Jim Rohn – A serial entrepreneur, motivational speaker and author – puts it better in this quote “you are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.”
It’s important you build a strong network of like minds. If you don’t already have a good network then you should start curating one. Before picking out people to form your network, consider only people who bring out the best in you, those who radiate positive vibes and aim high, and those who never give up.
If you already have a network but feel those in it are not giving you that positive energy you need, then you should create a list and weed out any member of the network that’s falling below expectations. The watch words are positive attitude and mindset. You don’t need people who don’t believe in your vision in your network.
Entrepreneur Traits:
In addition, there are other traits which are common to every entrepreneur. Some of these traits include; putting people first, being able to sell yourself and of course having visions and trying so hard to reach them.
Once you have developed that entrepreneur state of mind, your journey in business and other parts of life should be seamless. The positive vibes of being an entrepreneur will consequently change your view of life and improve your personal development overall.
